What sucked

A residential home builder in Atlantic Canada builds about 200 homes a year across several active sites, with sister companies for land, site work, materials and rentals.

Operations ran through WhatsApp, paper and one person's laptop. Staff re-typed field updates into other systems, and checking a project's status could mean driving to a site more than five hours away. Invoices were handled four or more times, with nothing confirming every expected invoice had arrived and a single spreadsheet to catch duplicates. Scheduling and site knowledge lived in people's heads.

What they built

North Group built a hosted, mobile-first operations platform for a residential home builder that turns daily WhatsApp field updates into searchable project records, with permit and milestone tracking and an invoice register that catches duplicates and missing invoices.
